Pilot ölçekli dondurarak kurutma, daha küçük partiler veya en ısıya duyarlı aktif bileşenlere sahip ekstraktlar için uygundur. Her iki yöntem de konsantre ekstraktların açık havada veya standart konvektif kurutulmasına kıyasla etkinliği ve aromayı çok daha iyi korur.
